Wave-Events in Miami

Wave is an atmospheric electronic music genre that emerged in the early 2010s through online communities, blending elements of trap, grime, and vaporwave into a distinct, emotive soundscape. Characterized by lush, cinematic pads, modulated vocal samples, and heavy, pulsating 808 basslines, the genre often utilizes half-time drum patterns typically found in hip-hop. Its mood is frequently melancholic and introspective, yet it retains a high-energy impact suitable for club environments. Semantically, it serves as a bridge between the aesthetic focus of vaporwave and the rhythmic aggression of modern bass music, eventually spawning the more high-octane subgenre known as hardwave.
