Azonto-Events dieses Wochenende in New York City

Azonto is a vibrant dance and music genre that originated in Ghana during the early 2010s, evolving from the traditional Kpanlogo dance within coastal Ga communities. Characterized by its infectious 4/4 rhythms and syncopated percussion, the genre typically utilizes digital drum machines, bright synthesizers, and call-and-response vocal patterns. Its tempo generally fluctuates between 120 and 125 BPM, creating a high-energy, celebratory mood that serves as a cornerstone of West African Afrobeats and Hiplife movements. Semantically, it bridges the gap between traditional folk movements and contemporary electronic club music, emphasizing expressive social interaction through its signature mimetic dance steps and rhythmic complexity.
