Bubblegrunge-Events in Paris

Bubblegrunge is a contemporary indie rock subgenre that emerged in the late 2010s, characterized by the juxtaposition of bright, bubblegum pop melodies with the distorted textures and DIY ethics of 1990s grunge and power pop. Typically featuring fuzzy electric guitars, driving basslines, and punchy drums, the instrumentation supports lyrics that are often introspective, vulnerable, and conversational. The genre maintains a moderate to fast tempo and a catchy, anthemic feel, creating a mood that oscillates between youthful angst and playful irony. Semantically, it bridges the gap between mainstream pop-rock sensibilities and the raw, unpolished production aesthetics of the underground garage rock and bedroom pop movements.
