Hardwave-Events in Paris

Hardwave is an electronic music subgenre that emerged in the mid-2010s as a high-energy evolution of the underground wave scene, blending emotive melodies with aggressive production. It is characterized by heavy use of cinematic supersaw leads, deep Reese basses, and high-octane trap-influenced percussion, often operating at tempos between 120 and 160 BPM. The genre maintains the melancholic and ethereal mood of its predecessor while incorporating the driving energy and technical polish found in hard dance and trance music. Semantically, it functions as a bridge between atmospheric bass music and the festival-ready intensity of modern electronic dance music, frequently utilizing pitched-up vocal fragments to enhance its nostalgic yet futuristic aesthetic.
