Blues-Events dieses Wochenende in Patras

Blues originated in the Deep South of the United States during the late 19th century, evolving from African American spirituals, work songs, and shouts. Characterized by its foundational 12-bar chord progression and "blue notes," the genre traditionally utilizes instrumentation such as the acoustic or electric guitar, harmonica, and piano. Rhythms often employ a distinctive shuffle or swing feel with tempos ranging from mournful, slow ballads to upbeat, driving boogie-woogie styles. Emotionally, the blues serves as a cathartic expression of personal struggle and resilience, acting as a critical stylistic ancestor to jazz, rhythm and blues, and rock and roll.
