Turkish Psych-Events diese Woche in Prag

Turkish Psych, also known as Anatolian Rock, emerged in the late 1960s as a vibrant fusion of traditional Turkish folk melodies and Western psychedelic rock sensibilities. It typically utilizes a hybrid instrumentation of the electric saz, fuzz-drenched guitars, and early synthesizers, often underpinned by driving percussion and complex rhythmic meters like the 9/8 time signature. The mood oscillates between hypnotic, ethereal textures and high-energy protest music, reflecting the socio-political climate of its era. Semantically, it bridges the gap between Middle Eastern maqam-based structures and Anglo-American rock, influencing modern global psych scenes.
