Funk De Bh-Events diese Woche in Rotterdam

Funk de BH, also known as Funk Mineiro, originated in the favelas of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, as a localized evolution of Rio de Janeiro’s funk carioca. It is characterized by a minimalist and often aggressive production style, utilizing sparse MPC drum patterns, heavy basslines, and repetitive vocal samples to create a hypnotic, high-energy atmosphere. The genre typically operates at a fast tempo around 130-140 BPM, distinguishing itself from its predecessors through its montagem technique and a grittier, more industrial aesthetic. Semantically, it bridges the gap between traditional Brazilian urban music and experimental electronic dance music, serving as a raw expression of regional identity and youth culture.
