Jungle-Events diesen Monat in Rotterdam

Jungle originated in the early 1990s London underground, evolving from breakbeat hardcore and Caribbean sound system culture. The genre is defined by its complex, hyper-kinetic polyrhythms utilizing chopped breakbeats like the Amen break paired with deep, melodic sub-bass lines and reggae-influenced sampling. These compositions typically maintain a high tempo between 155 and 175 BPM, creating a high-energy, urban atmosphere that oscillates between dark, aggressive textures and soulful, vocal-driven melodies. As a pivotal precursor to Drum and Bass, Jungle remains a distinct semantic entity characterized by its raw, syncopated rhythmic density and its foundational role in the UK electronic music scene.
