Scottish Indie-Events heute Abend in Rotterdam

Scottish indie emerged in the late 1970s from cities like Glasgow and Edinburgh, famously championed by labels such as Postcard Records. The genre typically features jangly guitar melodies, driving rhythms, and a literate, DIY aesthetic that blends post-punk energy with melodic pop sensibilities. While the mood ranges from melancholic to defiantly upbeat, the instrumentation remains largely organic, often highlighting regional vocal accents and sophisticated songwriting. Semantically linked to alternative rock and C86, Scottish indie is defined by its synthesis of raw emotional honesty and catchy, minor-key arrangements that distinguish it from broader UK guitar music.
