Groove Metal-Events diesen Monat in San Francisco

Groove metal, also known as post-thrash, emerged during the early 1990s as a mid-tempo evolution of thrash metal, primarily pioneered by influential bands like Pantera, Exhorder, and Sepultura. The genre is defined by heavily distorted, syncopated guitar riffs, prominent double-bass drumming, and aggressive, shouted vocals that prioritize rhythmic impact and sonic weight over technical speed. While it retains the raw intensity of its extreme metal predecessors, it incorporates a distinctive blues-inspired swing and a focus on catchy, repetitive grooves to create a more accessible yet punishing atmosphere. This style effectively served as a crucial bridge between traditional thrash and the subsequent rise of nu metal and alternative metal movements.
