Rock-Events dieses Wochenende in San Francisco

Rock music emerged in the United States during the late 1940s and early 1950s, evolving primarily from blues, country, and rhythm and blues. This genre is fundamentally characterized by the prominent use of the electric guitar, bass guitar, and drums, often featuring a steady 4/4 time signature with a heavy backbeat on the second and fourth pulses. Its moods range from rebellious and high-energy to introspective, serving as a primary cultural bridge between the folk traditions of the early 20th century and the commercialized pop soundscapes of the modern era. While it shares harmonic roots with jazz, rock distinguishes itself through amplified distortion, vocal grit, and a focus on live performance dynamics.
