Electronic Rock-Events in Zurich

Electronic rock, also known as synth-rock or electro-rock, emerged from the late 1960s experimentation of krautrock and psychedelic bands before solidifying through 1980s new wave and industrial music. The genre is characterized by a synergistic fusion of traditional rock instrumentation, such as electric guitars and live drums, with electronic elements like synthesizers, sequencers, and drum machines. Rhythms are typically driven and steady, maintaining a moderate to fast tempo that balances the raw energy of rock with the precise synchronization of electronic production. This hybrid style bridges the gap between alternative rock and electronic dance music, often projecting moods that range from dark and brooding to high-octane and anthemic.
