Folktronica-Events diesen Monat in Zurich

Emerging in the late 1990s and early 2000s, folktronica blends the traditional warmth of folk music with digital production techniques and experimental electronic textures. Typical instrumentation features acoustic elements like fingerstyle guitars, banjos, or violins juxtaposed against glitchy programmed beats, synthesizers, and intricate samplers. The rhythms generally oscillate between steady downtempo pulses and complex, IDM-inspired patterns, resulting in a pastoral yet modern sonic landscape that feels both ancient and futuristic. This genre occupies a unique space between indie folk and electronic music, often conveying an introspective, melancholic, or dreamlike mood that bridges organic songwriting with high-tech sonic manipulation.
