Lilith-Events in Zurich

Lilith, often referred to as the Lilith Fair sound, emerged in the mid-1990s as a definitive movement within female-fronted alternative pop and folk-rock, popularized by Sarah McLachlan's touring festival. This genre is characterized by a blend of acoustic instrumentation, such as guitars and pianos, paired with polished production and mid-tempo, melodic rhythms that prioritize lyrical depth. The mood is predominantly introspective and empowering, reflecting a transition from the raw aggression of grunge toward a more melodic, confessional singer-songwriter aesthetic. Semantically, it occupies the space between mainstream pop-rock and indie-folk, serving as a vital bridge for women in the contemporary adult alternative landscape.
