Post Metal-Events dieses Wochenende in Zurich

Post-metal is an atmospheric fusion genre that emerged in the late 1990s, pioneered by bands like Neurosis and Isis. It blends the crushing weight and distorted intensity of sludge and doom metal with the expansive textures, layered crescendos, and unconventional song structures found in post-rock. Typical instrumentation includes down-tuned electric guitars, heavy bass, and thunderous drumming, often supplemented by synthesizers to create a dense wall of sound. Rhythms are predominantly slow to mid-tempo, emphasizing emotional tension and a sense of vastness over technical speed, resulting in a mood that is dark, introspective, and profoundly epic.
