Swedish Metal-Events dieses Wochenende in Zurich

Swedish metal encompasses a diverse range of heavy music originating in the late 1980s, primarily defined by the Stockholm death metal and Gothenburg melodic death metal scenes. Instrumentation typically features downtuned, heavily distorted dual guitars, relentless double-bass drumming, and a versatile vocal range spanning from guttural growls to operatic cleans. Characterized by a high-energy tempo and a unique balance of aggressive speed and melancholic melody, the genre maintains an atmospheric yet intense mood. It evolved from NWOBHM and speed metal, eventually bridging the gap between extreme underground metal and more melodic, structured compositions that heavily influenced modern metalcore.
