fucking magnificent. brought me near to tears at multiple points!! i kind of think this might prove to be a shockingly important film as time goes on, as a very crowd-pleasing but real and affecting and nuanced portrait of queer family. firstman directed the fuck outta this one. kirby howell baptiste should be in every movie

Turns out that’s a pretty great combination of things to be in the right hands! funny, understated, surprisingly moving, has an incredible björk t-shirt… overdelivers on all fronts. very, very strong debut.
