LFF26 #7 World Premiere Screening Intro + Post Show Q&A with cast and crewIt was a privilege to watch this as part of its very first public screening, with Sir Ian McKellen sitting in the seat directly behind me. Frank and Percy is a really charming and sweet story about two men who find love in old age, and their various antics together. It’s a simple movie really, you watch them slowly fall in love and break each others’ walls gently through their conversations and strolls with their dogs along the Heath. It’s fluffy and feel-good, and just celebrating love and queer joy! It’s also laugh-out-loud hilarious throughout a lot of it, with many well-timed jokes littered throughout. I did find that sometimes the tone was a tad strange, and didn’t stay with any serious moments for too long, but honestly didn’t really mind. We rarely get to see the stories of older people falling in love, let alone older queer people, so this was lovely. Also, shoutout to the 46 bus, I took you home so many times during my first three years in London, I miss you.
