Score : 8.2/10 ✅Seen at Fantasia International Film Festival 2026-Who do you think deserves this bullet tonight?Probably the closest companion piece to The Righteous (2021). It has become a commonplace in religious movie reviews to say that 'God works in mysterious ways', but to every reviewer's defense, it's because it usually drives the movie forward. Still, I think it wouldn't do it justice not to slide toward this dictum, because Mark H. Rapaport's narrative choices are sort of insistent in that regard, yet surprisingly revelatory. It certainly puts faith-switching to the test.While part of the fun comes from the twins' unexpected invasion, all the good comes from how they seize the moment to evangelically propose their death — as some kind of ultimate redemption — to the priest. On the other hand, our priest character, portrayed by the talented Al Warren, is spending an enormous amount of time refusing to budge to their demands. The cool thing here is how he reassesses the situation to his advantage.After all, a movie can be super effective at letting each character patronize one another around a large topic. Which is why there are (many, many) moments in Godhead where characters are either questioned in their faith or asked if they have what it takes to resist desire.In the end, it becomes a game of musical chairs, and God is the one controlling the music. So brilliant.
