in-your-face migration drama in the wake of a Michel Franco, with glimpses of Haneke. unfortunately only following their footsteps, but remaining mostly a paper tiger. clinical, cold, constructed. looks like a proper, germ-free dystopia mostly. tries to stay first & foremost formally invested, doesn't want to be an empathy creating machine, hence doesn't give their actors a chance to engage on any other than the greater idea of it. really liked the thinking behind it, but this can't move any mountains with the restricted arthouse attitude it carries in front of it like a street sign.
