Was not expecting to see the AT&T lady to pop up but I wonder if the their partnership with tribeca has something to do with it

This is a coming-of-age, buddy movie with a slight twist. Selah (Birdie Silverstein) is an independent, strong-willed teenager saving money for college.She lands a job taking a cute designer puppy, Toby (Miso), from the Southern ma’am breeder, Annie (Lauren Weedman) from Texas to West Hollywood and his new owners.In this 21 minute short comedy, Selah drives cross-country while dealing with various problems along the way. She looks younger than her age but is more mature than her mom thinks she is.On the 22 hour drive, Selah and Toby bond but are rarely in actual danger: the nearest to it is when Toby accidentally scoffs a treat and needs an expensive trip to the emergency vet.It’s a light and amusing short, written and directed by Lara Everly, which keeps Selah’s real purpose for the trip until its final moments – which I did find a little bit off-kilter while applauding the sentiment and the comment on needing to cross state lines.The relationships between mother and daughter, girl and dog are strongly written and directed. Miso the dog is delightful, whether tucked up in bed or looking out of the car window.Miliana Vayntrub is very effective in her scenes as Claire, Selah’s mom. The subsidiary characters of cop, vet – complete with sheriff’s badge, receptionists, and the dog’s sweet new owners, all feel perfectly placed.
