Promising concept on paper, but ROUGH in execution. This is like if you took the first 20 minutes of the average apocalypse movie wherein everyone is just running around trying to figure out wtf is going on and stretched it into a feature length runtime that builds to an amateurly edited montage climax that resolves essentially nothing. The characters keep asking the same questions and getting the same answers and keep having the same seemingly apathetic dismissive attitude in response time and time again. Some quite bad acting, some very strange character decisions, and a pace slower than molasses. Yeah, I know the Adams Family have their whole brand thing, but this time it just wasn’t working for me. I was locked in after reading the premise and seeing the film start out with a sporadic heavy metal score, but damn, the payoff just never came. Again, I really respect stuff like this being made and I hate to dump on it - however, there was just too much within their control that ended up being fumbled. (“Sorry for the haterade” I say as I still justify a middle of the road 5/10 rating lol)Fantastic Fest 2026
Score : 6.3/10 ✅Seen at Fantasia International Film Festival 2026Fine enough, not particularly surprised from a horror standpoint, but it's easily the funniest project from The Adams Family. My favorite part was when the sheriff was wandering the town while hard rock music was blasting in the background, juxtaposed with quick zooms and dramatic effects, reminiscent of a 90s badass TV-Cop series or Dog the Bounty Hunter's TV show. That shit was so hilarious. From a script perspective, it’s also their most diverse in terms of ideas. Principally mysteries; since we are approaching different dynamics of small-town shenanigans: extreme paranoia, disgusting meat-monster that keeps appearing, the disappearance of 300 cows, town-people coming back from the dead, heavy faith that leaves no room for logical reasoning, and some asshole-holes that are spawning in different locations from time to time. That sheriff was on the big clock; no time to rest. Truth be told, it’s pretty decent for what it is; a lot of stuff works if you are interested in nonsensical end-of-the-world scenarios. But it’s also trashy. Sure, it winds up on a monstrous note, but the fact that I couldn’t connect with anything past the second half is where I kind of lost interest. I don’t know, it feels like I needed more comedy and less bizarre stuff. More of a 'me-problem' at this point.

A great balance of horror comedy and homage to the classics. This family is year after year becoming a Larry Cohen or Roger Corman type pipeline for playful and thoughtful elevated B movies. What's interesting is that they experiment with style and subgenre each and every time. More than happy to buy a ticket to their annual Fantasia world premieres.
