Katniss Everdeen hat nach den Ereignissen des ersten Teils den Zorn von Präsident Snow auf sich gezogen. Um sie endgültig auszuschalten wird sie gemeinsam mit Peeta Mellark anlässlich der 75. Katniss weiß, dass diesmal nicht nur ihr Leben, sondern auch die Sicherheit ihrer Familie auf dem Spiel steht, denn eine erneute Blamage wird Präsident Snow nicht dulden. Auch außerhalb der Arena hat Katniss Aufbegehren gegen die blutigen Regeln dieses Turniers Wirkung gezeigt. Immer mehr Menschen verweigern sich den Befehlen der totalitären Regierung und erblicken in Katniss das Symbol ihres gemeinsamen Widerstandes. Der Keim der Revolution ist gesät und Katniss’ Mocking Jay ist ihr gemeinsames Erkennungszeichen.

okay but the best moment in this whole franchise, and the one that leaves you the most fucked up (sorry rue! sorry prim!) is when katniss watches lenny kravitz get mauled as a tube traps her, lifting her up to one of the most audacious arenas the games have ever seen, the camera twirling around her, the countdown beginning so ominously overhead, the sounds of waves crashing as jennifer lawerence expertly maneuvers from pure horror and distraught into determination to save peeta, diving into what would become the most fucked up game of cbs' survivor to datethis movie is the peak of ya dystopia... change my mind
