Score : 7.1/10 ✅Seen at Fantasia International Film Festival 2026-No phones during lessons. Common sense!Not enough action to call it an action movie. Not enough dance sequences to call it a dance drama. But well-suited to call it a lightly entertaining comedy. And gosh, it has heart. I had a great time; that's for sure.The Specials is actually not that complicated of a movie; it's more a challenge of making menacing guys do silly things. Or, you know, the best medicine for developing humanity in their field of work. And I guess if your teacher is only one-fourth of your age; you'll find the will to double the effort to make it count. On notice side, it's not exactly what the movie's poster promises. So, don't be surprised if the movie stays in a position of 'teaching' rather than 'delivering'; it's only logical that our 5 characters don't get past the motivation of learning more than 10 dance moves. They aren't supposed to become good, which is also part of the charm.So yeah, reasonably enjoyable (especially the gunplay choreography, even if hyper illogical) but don't throw the towel even if some of the 'big' action sequences are left to be desired. On that note; not sure if the VFX department was absent that day but it feels like it could have been rendered better? Oh well. What do I know... 🏃♂️➡️ 🚪
