47SOUL is a trailblazing musical collective, formed in Jordan and now based between London and Palestine. They single-handedly pioneered the "Shamstep" genre by fusing electronic hip-hop with traditional Dabke and reggae. Their music draws from the rich heritage of the Levant, blending instruments like the arghul and mijwiz with hip-hop and electronica to create a sound that is both deeply rooted and innovative. This vibrant sound has made them a formidable live act, with acclaimed performances at Glastonbury and Roskilde, and on KEXP and NPR’s Tiny Desk. Their discography began with the seminal 2015 EP, Shamstep. Now celebrating its tenth anniversary with a special remix edition, this foundation was built upon with albums Balfron Promise (2018) and Semitics (2020). In a landmark 2025, they released Dualism Pt.1 and supported Massive Attack on tour. 47SOUL continues to use their music as a powerful vehicle for solidarity and cultural resilience.
