Ada Bird Wolfe

Ada Bird Wolfe is a LA based composer, lyricist and singer. Her 2020 release,"He and Me," was called a "tour de force" (Midwest Records) and named one of the Top Releases of 2020 (All About Jazz). Her 2018 CD, "Birdie" was called a "superb jazz adventure" (Contemporary Fusion Reviews) and was named one of the Top 10 Releases for 2018 (All About Jazz). Her new album "Murmuration" was released June 5, 2026. As with all original songs composed by Wolfe and her writing partner and musical director, Jamieson Trotter, in "Murmuration," Wolfe sets the melodic and lyrical architecture while Trotter constructs the harmonic interior — building upward from her foundations with sophisticated chord voicings and rich, layered arrangements. “Murmuration” is a twelve song celebration of life as reflected in the annual life cycle of birds. The style of music is a thrilling cross between jazz and classical in which passages of notated music, often including harmonic improvisation, are interspersed with passages of pure improvisation.
