With a vibrant heart that beats to the rhythm of drums and a voice carrying the soul of the Colombian Caribbean, AKUPERCU emerges as a powerful new echo in the independent music scene. Daniela Serna Cuevas, also known as AKUPERCU, is a Colombian percussionist and artist based in New York since 2021. After two decades in the alternative Latin music world, she is now embarking on her first solo adventure. Her new project is a sonic odyssey that blends a passion for traditional and electronic music with the realms of design and visual arts. A former member of the Bogotá-based group La Perla and co-creator of the acclaimed band LADAMA, with performances on platforms like Tiny Desk, TED Talk, and Lincoln Center, AKUPERCU brings with her a wealth of experience and a fresh vision that promises to leave an indelible mark on the music scene.
