Alcest

Alcest is a French musical project founded in 2000 that pioneered the genre known as blackgaze. Their sound bridges the gap between intense, atmospheric black metal and ethereal shoegaze, creating otherworldly soundscapes inspired by childhood spiritual experiences. Over acclaimed albums like Souvenirs d'un autre monde and Kodama, the band continually balances heavy instrumentation with dreamlike, luminous melodies.
