Νοσταλγικός, καλοδουλεμένος καλλιτέχνης vocal jazz
A Brooklyn-born, Harlem-based jazz vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, and bandleader Allan Harris has spent decades perfecting the art of the American Songbook — and winning the awards to prove it. A two-time Hot House Jazz Magazine "Best Male Jazz Vocalist," he has also earned Back Stage's "Ongoing Achievement in Jazz," the New York Nightlife Award for "Outstanding Jazz Vocalist," and the DownBeat Critic's Poll "Rising Star Vocalist" award. Beyond his recordings, Harris has brought jazz storytelling to the stage with *Cross That River*, a critically acclaimed jazz-inflected musical tracing the journey of Blue, a Black cowboy whose story stretches from the antebellum South to the wide-open West. His new album, *Swingin' Love Songs*, arrives August 28, 2026 — a collection of nine swinging jazz ballads written in the tradition of the Great American Songbook by a composer who left us too soon. Recorded more than 20 years ago and only recently rediscovered, these songs were made with the full blessing of the composer's family. They are love songs the world almost never heard.
Allan Harris plays vocal jazz and blues rooted in the Great American Songbook tradition, blending sophisticated swing with rich storytelling.
