Altlut

Formed in 2021 in Iași, Romania, ALTLUT represents more than just a project – it embodies a collective of individuals whose vision is to translate human consciousness into music. Through notes and rhythms that carry the imagination across diverse worlds, the band leaves space within the story for each listener’s own experiences and emotions. In their pursuit of a distinctive sound, ALTLUT explores the boundaries of genres such as Post-Metal, Doom, and Sludge. However, since they cannot be fully confined to a specific style, their music is also enriched with elements of percussion and classical music. In 2024, following the consolidation of the current lineup and after several months of searching for a musical identity, ALTLUT released their debut EP, entitled Rebearth. This first release illustrates the band’s intention to shape, through sound and rhythm, the story of another realm – one born of the members ’ dreams, consciousness, and inner states. As ALTLUT’s music seeks to merge multiple worlds, the band is part of the New Sun Circle collective – a group of like-minded artists united by a DIY ethic and a shared passion for creativity, self-expression and pushing artistic boundaries. The collective also includes the bands Al Ghehenii (dark wave / indie / extreme metal, Romania & Ireland) and Ancestral (Progressive Metal, Iași).
