Andrew St. James

“When people ask what’s going on with the San Francisco music scene, point them in the general direction of Andrew St. James.” –SF Chronicle Andrew St. James is a singer, songwriter, & multi-instrumentalist based in San Francisco. Known for his sharp lyricism & restless blend of folk, rock, country, & garage influences, St. James has spent the last decade carving out a place in independent music. From his first full record, Doldrums, released when he was 17 years old, to his most recent release “Home Demos Vol 1”, he has established himself as a prolific voice, balancing classic American songwriting with an experimental instinct & raw live energy.  St. James has shared bills over the years with artists including Ray LaMontagne, Geographer, Lyle Lovett, Sierra Ferrell, BØRNS, Jesse Welles,  Christopher Owens, & John Moreland. In addition to his solo work, he has been a full-time member of French Cassettes since 2022, touring nationally & performing on stages including Outside Lands Music Festival.   St. James is also known for the breadth of his collaborative work – in 2018, he launched Fast Times Presents.!, a monthly music series showcasing emerging + established artists from across the Bay Area independent scene. The series became a creative hub for local musicians & helped spark several new projects, including his own collaborations: Fast Times with members of Geographer, LUCKY with members of Half Stack + Jay Som, & SF favorite Juan Wayne alongside Cesar Maria.
