Animal Scream is the Pittsburgh Doom Pop Project of songwriter, producer Chad Monticue, exploring psych-pop psychedelia that’s dark, sweet & cinematic, a noir-tinted sound in thrall to the eternal groove. Studio Releases: Nightwalk Otherworldly Pictures (Special Edition) Heartbroke Motel Midnight Summer premieres September (2026) Midnight Summer: A colorful mixtape of doomy beach bops, dream-soaked trembling guitars, hip-shaking dark boogies, and moody lofi night-driving music dissolved into an unnerving beautiful unknown. I imagined an album of wandering, misplaced spirits, ghosts & lovers hanging out on warm summer nights at the beach with fire barrels all around. I hope listeners feel vibrant colors like they’re watching a movie with their favorite person. It’s meant to feel like a mixtape to a friend. It's a hopeful record about life after death, transition & moving forward when things feel too scary to move at all. Midnight Summer is the third full length by Animal Scream, and debut release for Reckoner Music; a boutique production label specializing in curating all unique genres.
