It was there he befriended his neighbor, Flying Lotus, and witnessed the birth of Brainfeeder Records firsthand. His journey led him to KCRW, where he spent 15 years honing his craft, eventually taking the helm of the station’s flagship music program, Morning Becomes Eclectic. Valadez has been championed by the likes of Donald Glover, Ty Dolla $ign, Jeff Staple, and countless others for his uncanny ear for emerging talent. His creativity extends beyond curation—he has remixed for legends such as David Bowie, Local Natives, and Ozomatli, and boasts a catalog of original releases.
