Blue Chesterfield

Blue Chesterfield, located in Pilsen, Czech Republic, was originally a solo project of David Jirka that, in time, formed into a band that was slightly changing in members throughout the years. The project now consists of Vítek Nováček on piano, organs and synths; Mikoláš Plass on drums; Vojtěch Šindelář on bass guitar; Anna Vodová and Kateřina Brtníková on violins; and David Jirka on vocals, guitar and synthesizers. All their albums were self-produced and self-recorded. The only exception is the album "Unlovable Miracle", recorded as a live session in ExAavik Studio with an orchestral string section. This album was mixed and mastered by Pavel Kielberger, who previously collaborated as a musician and producer with David Jirka on an album titled: "Songs for the Fall". Blue Chesterfield finds a balance between wild live performances and poignantly poetic lyrics. This combination brings together their unique signature atmosphere. They draw primarily from the Western guitar sound of the sixties and seventies and the art rock and post-punk sound of the eighties, and they are never afraid to experiment in the sonic universe. With their latest album "Barks!" in which they dive into new ways to work with the sound and story telling through music.
