Bobbo Byrnes

Music for Train Stations album is completely different from all the rest. It's just a piano ambient album. Tracy Byrnes is on all my albums. She plays bass and sings. Matt Froehlich is on drums. Motel Americana - is a rootsy rocker. It sort of starts our rocking, mellows out in the middle and ends with a big rocker. Make sense? Let's move on. Two Sides To This Town - is a good mix of the rock and roll and acoustic based rockers. Toured this one a lot and features the Hammond playing of Rami Jaffee (Wallflowers/Foo Fighters) and violin playing of Caitlin Cary (Whiskeytown) The Red Wheelbarrow - recorded this while traveling across the U.S. A big chunk of it was done in Nashville with Ken Coomer (Wilco) on drums and also features the Hammond playing of Rami Jaffee and lead guitar by Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music). This one was fun. SeaGreenNumber5 - I wanted to capture the sound and feel of a house concert and so this album was recorded in my living room. Geo Hennessey on violin and Jeremy Long on pedal steel. Too many bars, too many Saturday nights - songs that could've been on SGN5 but didn't fit thematically. October - should've been called Two Days in October as that's all it was. One day in Hansa studios in Berlin, One day in Windmill Lane in Dublin. All by myself with just what I could carry. Bobbo Byrnes (self-titled) - I turned the rocknroll back on again and used these songs to fight against the existential dread.
