Bobsan

Bobsan is a Bratislava-based producer and DJ, active since 1999—with a fanbase so small it doesn’t even include the owners of local bistros where he introduced himself as "I'm a DJ and producer." His progress was steady rather than rapid, as he splits his time with another underappreciated hobby: architecture. When he finishes a track, he always thinks it "finally" sounds professional—only to rework it six months later based on his current knowledge, again and again. Despite this, he released albums Demos 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6...—initially burned onto 10 CDs and pushed into people’s hands in exchange for often very honest reviews. Then came 40x20—his first album in global streaming distribution, where every 500-millionth person on Earth has listened to his tracks. The album Frydays was released as an LP vinyl on the GERGAZ Radio label—a dream come true, though sales will likely be discontinued after many years. The breakthrough came after about 10 years of spamming people with his musical attempts, when his unofficial remix of Slovak 80s pop singer Marika Gombitová’s "Just One Day" started playing on Radio_FM (a Slovak alternative radio station), gaining more from the fame of the original than the remixer’s skills. He spins house and related genres, including hits, at local events where no one is ashamed of an empty dancefloor. Instead, a few die-hard fans appreciate Bobsan’s effort to entertain, as he believes 127 BPM is the ideal tempo for cardio dance.
