Breastbone

The music played by the balladic post-rock Breastbone is hallmarked by contrasts: soft and hard, light and dark, high and deep, pious tranquility and bursting power. Playful uneven rhythms enhance the tension between the folk-based, melodic, balladistic feminine vocal and the psychedelic, dark, slowly pulsating, occasionally distorted instrumental base. In the songs of the 2022-formed band, sensitive, visceral tunes and English lyrics full of psychoanalytic metaphors raise the instinctive impulses from behind the breastbone to the level of consciousness.
