Chaitanya Natu is a distinguished percussionist from India with deep roots in Indian classical music. He began playing tabla at six, growing up in a musical family. He earned a Master of Music from Berklee College of Music, where he explored innovative rhythmic combinations from African polyrhythms, flamenco, and Middle Eastern traditions, grounded in the Indian tala system. Chaitanya also holds a Master of Music in tabla from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and an Advanced Diploma from Bhartiya Vidyapeeth. His academic achievements extend beyond music, with a Master’s in Computer Applications (Pune University) and Digital Marketing (IEM Business School, Valencia). He has performed at numerous festivals across India, participated in a Guinness World Record event by Art of Living, and won the Best Live Scoring award for animation at the Almagro International Film Festival. Chaitanya’s collaborations include working with ensembles in Spain across genres like Indo-flamenco jazz, Sufi-electronic, and Middle Eastern music. His projects, such as batucada & Taali Khali, integrate traditional instruments like the "tasha." Currently based in Valencia, Chaitanya balances his career as a web developer with his passion for music, collaborating with bands like Taali-Khali and Umpah, teaching Indian rhythm globally, and developing his own musical projects.
