Chanpan began when Grace Dumdaw and twin brothers Lance and Matthew Tran decided to busk in Chinatown NYC for fun. Since then, they’ve been praised by Vogue as a “very cool New York band”, championed by Pigeons & Planes, named as one of ‘The Riot Grrrls of 2025’ by Numéro Tokyo magazine, and featured as the cover of Local Wolves’ “Visionary” issue. The trio’s individual accolades in politics, community organizing, and film & television have been featured by The New Yorker, HBO, Billboard, CNN, and more.
Chanpan blends alternative rock, electronic pop, and punk influences, creating a dynamic sound that has been featured by outlets like Vogue and Pigeons & Planes.
