Density Black Cat

Density Black Cat is pure NYC Rock-n-Roll with a backbeat and a groove! The band features Dennis “Density” Doyle (guitar/vocals), Donald “DonBlackCat” Sztabnik (guitar/backing vocals), Tom “Gass Wild” Edwards (drums/backing vocals), and Mitchell “Mitch Zing” Zerring (bass/backing vocals). These bandmates share an overlapping musical pedigree rooted in classic rock history. Drummer Gass Wild played with Johnny Thunders, fronted UK punk outfit Lightning Raiders (whose recordings featured members of the Sex Pistols), and founded London’s 1980s garage-rockers The Mannish Boys. Guitarist DonBlackCat’s former band, The Dragons, shared the stage for several legendary shows with Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers. Frontman Density Doyle and his new-wave band Max Fraction performed in the late '70s/'80s downtown scene, while bassist Mitch Zing rocked the underground circuits with Highway Chile and SST. Coming of age during the explosive NYC and London music scenes, these veterans cut their teeth performing at iconic spaces like Max's Kansas City, CBGBs, Folk City, and more. Today, Density Black Cat stands as a direct descendant and inheritor of that distinctive, authentic downtown “New York City Rock” sound.
