Derry

Started as a solo project in 2020, the German horror punk band DERRY formed its current line-up in spring 2023. On their first demo single The Kids Of Derry, released in summer 2023, the five musicians give a clear impression of what the horror punk genre means to them. A mixture of dark sounds, driving beats, a playful bassline and catchy, straightforward melodies, peppered with influences of American skate punk from the 90s, gives an idea of ​​the soundtrack of their youth. The first concerts with bands like New York's The Casualties and Agrotoxico from Brazil brought not only many positively surprised faces but also increasing interest in the band. An overall concept with attention to detail. Thematically, the band has turned to the works of Stephen King. In addition to their name, which is based on a fictional small town in Maine in numerous King stories, the songs so far have been about tales from that very town. In addition to numerous D.I.Y. items such as paper boats, buttons, posters and a book exchange box (of course exclusively Stephen King works), they also impress with a well thought-out concept for the soon-to-be-released first mini-album Remember The Curfew. The Album deals with King's literary bestseller "IT" and the personalized horror of Pennywise, the murdering clown, but also with important themes such as first love, friendship and personal loss.
