Distance/Time ( Distance Over Time ) is a NYC based band with roots in the Post-Hardcore, Metalcore, Screamo, and Progressive Metal genres. Formed in late 2024, D/T seamlessly blends melody and aggression which leads to dynamic songs and unforgettable performances. Easily one of the youngest bands proficiently operating in the Modern Metalcore scene, Distance/Time maintains a full live show calendar at all times because a stage is where they shine the brightest. SPIN Magazine highlighted their live performance prowess noting that audience members were "immediately transported to Warped Tour of Yesteryear". Distance/Time has been influenced by a wide array of veteran bands including Gojira, Coheed and Cambria, Thursday, Avenged Sevenfold, Every Time I Die, & Thrice and more recent bands like Invent Animate, Boundaries, Currents, Better Lovers, 156/Silence , and Johnny Booth. The latter mentioned bands occupy the very space D/T are destined to exist within and they have the drive and the songs to do it. D/T's EP title track, "In the Span of Everything... We Are Nothing" and it's follow up "Inherit the Earth" show clear signs of the band's influences. Their third release, "Effectively Alone", dives into more atmospheric territory and expands upon the range the group explores and clearly indicates that this project is not tied to a singular genre. The band name is pronounced “Distance Over Time” as it is derived from the physics equation D/T=S or Distance/Time = Speed.
Distance/Time plays modern metalcore and post-hardcore, blending heavy aggression with melodic and atmospheric dynamics.
Distance/Time is based in Staten Island, New York.
