Abyss is a Berlin DJ & Producer. He was born in Frankfurt (Oder) but moved to Berlin 1995 becoming more and more famous. In 1991, he founded "KamithHall," the first techno club in East Germany, where he started performing under the pseudonym "Abyss." After the club closed in 1992, he launched the "Space Admission" party series together with DJ Kid Paul, later joined by Paul van Dyk. These events ran until 1998 in various locations in Berlin and Brandenburg. At the same time, Abyss founded TenDance, a Europe-wide techno and house magazine, in 1992, serving as its editor-in-chief and publisher until 2004. He later opened additional clubs, including Margin in Frankfurt (Oder) and Marginal Frontier in Guben. In 1995, he became a resident DJ at the legendary Berlin club Tresor and played at international events. Starting in 1998, DJ Abyss released several tracks on the Berlin label MFS and founded his own labels Strike Records and Alternate Recordings in 1999. After 14 releases, a longer creative break followed. His album Paleance was released in 2021, followed by Into The Abyss in 2022 and Hadrium in September 2023. In the same year, the chill-out album "Drizzle" was released. After a short break, his album "Drifting Through Time" was released in 2025. DJ Abyss is considered one of the pioneering figures in the German techno and house scene, contributing significantly to the development of electronic music with his innovative ideas.
