Leeds based singer, songwriter, and guitarist Eve Buckley combines a rich hybrid of alternative-soul and jazz infused pop. Capturing the tapestry of notions that arise through young adulthood, her timeless vocals and sentimental soundscapes are reminiscent of her inspirations including Lianne La Havas, Jordan Rakei and Yazmin Lacey. Meeting producer Alex Williams at University in Leeds marked the beginning of a unique collaboration to create Eve’s authentic recorded sound rooted in elegant writing and luscious production. Her debut EP, ‘Some Kind of Solace’ released independently last year, and has received nearly half a million streams to date. It has also received airplay and support from BBC Introducing, Jazz FM, and Global Soul Radio as well as acclaim from Fresh On The Net, Dead Good Music, and Chalkpit Cassette Club, who produced a limited-edition run of the EP on cassette tape. Her all-consuming storytelling and distinctive voice have captivated audiences across Leeds and the UK, supporting the likes of Rosie Frater Taylor, Children of Zeus, Jamilah Barry, and landing slots at Live at Leeds In The City and London Jazz Festival. Last year she completed a sold out debut EP launch tour around the UK, and has since debuted new music at an IVW tour this January. To celebrate 1 year of her debut EP, she released an EP of solo versions in February which exposed Eve’s ‘lovely voice’, acclaimed by Jamie Cullum on his BBC Radio 2 Jazz Show.
