Floatist is the meeting point between folk singer-songwriter Henny Herz and drummer and producer Nicholas Stampf. With their upcoming debut album, the duo not only deepens their long-standing artistic collaboration but also ventures into new stylistic territory, inspired by soulful grooves and playful sound design. Since 2020, Nicholas Stampf has been an integral part of the band surrounding Henny Herz, playing a key role both in the album production of Two Colors To Combine (2023) and in numerous live performances. Together, the two produced the third Henny Herz album, We All Heal At Night, in an old country house in the Czech Republic — a collection of fourteen pieces situated between folk and ambient that are devoted entirely to the themes of sleep and a sense of safety in turbulent times.
Floatist plays a blend of indie folk and neo-soul, characterized by soulful grooves, playful sound design, and ambient folk textures.
