FOLKULAKA

Folkulaka is a young yet experienced Ukrainian horror-folk band whose name combines the words ‘folk’ and a Ukrainian variation of the term ‘werewolf ’. Their work is a revision of Ukrainian folk songs and dances, immersed in a mystical and macabre atmosphere. The mysticism in Folkulaka’s songs is simultaneously embodied via creepy stories and ironic humour. In fact, this is a direct following of traditional Ukrainian dark folklore, in which nightmares coexist with laughter and jokes.
