Freebot

Alfredo Olaf López Acuña, better known as Freebot, is a DJ and producer from Monterrey, Mexico, born on October 12, 1999. Inspired by Colombian cumbia, regional Mexican sounds, EDM, and Tribal Huarachero, his musical journey began at the age of 11, when he first started producing digitally. Around the same time, dubstep inspired Freebot to imagine a fusion of pre-Hispanic and regional music with bass-heavy electronic styles. This vision evolved into his signature genre Basscumbia, which earned him spots on global netlabels and performances at major festivals such as EDC Mexico, Beyond Wonderland, Bahidorá, and Cabuland. That same year, Freebot innovated further by creating Tektribal, a genre defined by unique tribal rhythm sequencing. His debut EP, TRIBAL MODE (2020), sparked a movement within South India’s sound system scene, particularly in cities like Kolhapur and Belgaum. In 2022, his single “DAME” featuring Aneth broke into the Top 50 Viral Songs in India, marking the start of his first India tour across Mumbai, Goa, Pune, and more. In 2023, he released his first full-length album, Global Sound System, which reinforced his influence across the Indian subcontinent. That year, he also went viral globally with “Tus Besos – Remix”, amassing over 2 million user-generated videos across Asia, Latin America, and Africa.
