Funky District

Funky District unfolds a universe that’s both absurd and elegant, blending a radiant 70s aesthetic with funk, pop, and soul, all infused with that unmistakable French touch that sets them apart. Born as a disco/house duo in southern France, the project released its first EP 404 NOT FONK in 2023, a retro-fueled record packed with samples and groove. The collective later expanded in Paris with the addition of a bassist and a saxophonist, and teamed up with Nic Hanson for Now What?, an EP mixing soul, R&B, funk, disco, and organic instrumentation. On stage, the five-piece lights up intimate clubs and large venues alike, delivering a tight yet festive live show that has already taken them across France and Belgium. Two tours later, Funky District is gearing up for a new EP set for late 2025, once again with Nic Hanson, pushing their sound further into funk-rock and disco territories. Their journey continues in 2026 with their first headline show at the legendary La Boule Noire in Paris, along with a European tour, promising a funky, irreverent, yet classy future.
