As the spotlight comes up and the confetti cannons blast, an irresistible force of nature hits the stage … GAYC/DC! True, they started out ten years ago lyrically debauching AC/DC songs to the enjoyment of Gay and Straight audiences alike. And, while they clearly have man-love for the band from Australia and the music that they parody, GAYC/DC has morphed into so much more than just a common tribute band. So much more unique than the disco Village People or The New York Dolls that indeed blazed a trail from the past. GAYC/DC are indeed current and in a class by themselves. It’s not the memory of the outrageous costumes, slammin’ musicianship or the giant inflatable male genitalia that the audience takes away from their shows. It’s the authentic love for everyone that washes over the stage and into the crowd. From their call to action in their new video “HOLD YOUR HEAD UP” encouraging everyone to be proud of who they are, to their brave stance against hate, GAYC/DC are a musical entity whose mission is clear. Their time is now and they are to be seen to be believed.
