Goblyns

Based between Amsterdam and Berlin, Goblyns masterfully blend funk, soul, raw power and psychedelic hooks. Smashing through barriers with sticky, syncopated drum and bass grooves, krautrock hypnosis and fuzzy riffs, the innovative sound of Goblyns is hard to brush off. The (mostly) instrumental trio made up of brothers Liam and Francis Broek and longtime friend Giovanni Votano, all born and raised in Gqeberha, South Africa, spouted from the frustration of not making music together. Drawing influence from bands such as The Meters, Kikagaku Moyo, W.I.T.C.H, Khruangbin and CAN, these melomaniacs concoct a purity that can’t be nailed down. Their debut LP, “Hunki Bobo”, released in May ’24 with Crazysane Records and toured through Europe, was met with critical praise following their jump onto the scene in 2023 with EP “This Is Spaghettification”.
